Step 1) Open the iPhone and double-tap on the home button. You will be presented with a sliding menu at the bottom of the home screen.

Step 2) Scroll to the left until you come across the Airplay button. Tap on this button in order to see all the Airplay enabled devices on the network.

Step 3) Since Airserver will be installed on your Mac; it will appear on this list. Simply click on the name of the computer.

Note: There are applications such as YouTube which are Airplay-enabled. When you are paying video on your iOS device from such a site, the Airplay icon is visible in the playback menu. You simply need to click on this icon, and all Airplay connected devices will appear, then you can click on which one you want to connect with.

Mirroring using Airserver will only work on iPhone 4S and newer, iPod Touch 5 and above, and all models of iPad mini or iPad 2nd generation and above.

Part 5: How to Airplay to Mac using Reflector

Reflector is another app that you can use to Airplay from iPhone to Mac over the home WiFi network. Reflector is a premium application, although it does offer a free 7-day trial. In order to stream media from your iPhone to your Mac through mirroring, here are the steps to follow:

Step 1) Go to the official Reflector website, and download the trial version of the application. You can also download the premium version and pay for it.

Step 2) Once the .dmg file has been downloaded, click on it to open it.

Step 3) Click on the Reflector application and move it to the applications folder on your Mac.

Step 4) Launch the Reflector application. You will not see any window opening since the application will run in the background and can only be seen in the dock area. It will only be launched when it senses an iOS device trying to connect via Airplay.

Step 5) On the iPhone, swipe upwards from the bezel and access the Control Center.

Step 6) Click on the Airplay icon in order to launch the application.

Step 7) You will see a list of devices which you can connect with. Choose the Mac computer, and then toggle mirroring on.
