What can I do if my device fails to connect?

Last Revised: 2016-12-06 17:32:41

If your device fails to connect with the software, try the following suggestions to get connected:

1. Ensure that you have the latest version of the software. This link will allow you to download and install the most up to date version: http://download.wondershare.com/cbs_down/drfone-for-android_full1464.exe

2. Make sure that your device is powered on, and that USB Debugging is enabled.

* Tip: follow the steps to enable USB debugging. *

1) For Android version 2.3 or earlier(Click to learn How to Check What Android Version You Have), tap Settings>Applications>Development and then click on USB Debugging.

2) For Android version 3.0 to 4.1, tap Settings>Developer Options and then click on USB Debugging.

3) If you have Android 4.2 or later versions, the way of getting the to the USB Debugging is a little more involved. To start tap on Settings>About Phone and then tap Build Number 7 times or until you get the note “You are under developer mode”. Now start back at Settings and choose Developer Options, and then click on USB Debugging.

3. Re-connect the USB cable to rec-onnect the device to the computer, and ensure it’s connected to the computer first, then the software.

4. Remove other USB devices that are attached to the computer, as they may be conflicting with the device you wish to recover from.

5. Make sure that you have the most up to date driver for your device on your computer. It’s highly recommended to visit the manufacturer’s website to get the latest driver from them.
