Trainers, mark your calendars because the official dates and locations for Pokemon Go Fest 2023 have been announced! This year, Pokemon Go Fest 2023 will be taking place in three amazing cities around the world: Osaka, New York, and London.

If you don’t live in those cities, you can also join the event virtually at Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global. This means trainers from all over the globe can participate in the festivities and catch rare and exclusive Pokemon that they can only exclusively find in the event.

The theme for Pokemon Go Fest 2023 has yet to be revealed. But we can expect it to be just as thrilling as in previous years. The event will feature various activities, challenges, and quests that will keep trainers entertained throughout the weekend. Trainers can also expect to see new releases, both in terms of Pokemon and features.

Part 2: What’s new? Expectations for Pokemon Go Fest 2023

As we gear up for Pokemon Go Fest this August, there's a lot to be excited about. Niantic has promised some incredible new features and updates for this year's event, and we can hardly wait to see what's in store.

So far, the festival has revealed various add-ons for players to choose from, ranging from $15 to $100. Although these add-ons are not a new feature for the game, some of these new add-ons offer additional benefits that were not available in previous years.

Add-ons:

• Raid Lover package

Get up to 18 free Raid Passes daily by spinning Gym Photo Discs, with additional bonuses like 5,000 XP for completed raids, 6 extra Candy for catching Pokémon in 5-star and Mega Raids, and 3 additional Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and up.

• Egg-thusiast

Egg hatching was made easier with a 1/4 distance requirement and increased chance of getting 10 km eggs from spinning PokéStops and Gyms. Earn 3× hatch stardust, XP, and candy.

• Citywide gameplay
  Pokemon Go enthusiasts might find this new "Citywide gameplay" add-on interesting. For an extra fee of $20, you can enjoy an additional day of city-wide gameplay beyond the primary event day.
• T-shirt Pre-order

Order a limited Pokemon Go Fest 2023 T-shirt that is exclusive to the event. Buyers will get a code to redeem a matching in-app avatar item.

Shiny Pokemon

Shiny Pokemon have always been a staple of Pokemon Go events. Trainers will have the opportunity to catch shiny versions of certain Pokemon during the event. In Pokemon Go Fest 2022 locations, we've seen the debut of several shiny Pokemon. Thus, we expect this year to be no different.

But what exactly are shiny Pokemon? Shiny Pokemon are essentially rare variants of regular Pokemon that have a different color scheme. These Pokemon have been a sought-after rarity since their introduction in Pokemon games.
