How to Secure iPhone Notes with a Password?

What You Can Lock

Apple Notes lets you lock individual notes with a password or Face ID/Touch ID (depending on your settings).

Set a Notes Password
  1. Settings > Apps > Notes (or Settings > Notes).
  2. Tap Password.
  3. Choose an account (iCloud or On My iPhone) and create a password.
Lock a Note
  1. Open the note in Notes.
  2. Tap the More (⋯) button.
  3. Tap Lock (or Lock Note).
  4. Use your password or Face ID/Touch ID to confirm.
🤔 Protip:

Important Limitations: If you forget the Notes password, Apple can’t unlock existing locked notes for you. Changing the Notes password affects new locks; it may not unlock older notes without the old password.
