Taking a screenshot on an iPhone varies slightly depending on whether your device uses Face ID or Touch ID. Here is a quick guide to capturing your screen on any model.
Method 1: iPhone with Face ID (iPhone X and later)
- Press the Side button (right side) and the Volume Up button (left side) at the same time.
- Quickly release both buttons.
- A thumbnail will appear in the lower-left corner. Tap it to edit or swipe left to dismiss it.
Method 2: iPhone with Touch ID (iPhone 8, SE, and earlier)
- Press the Side button (or Top button) and the Home button at the same time.
- Quickly release both buttons.
Method 3: Using AssistiveTouch (One-Handed)
If your buttons are not working, you can use software:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and turn it on.
- Tap the white floating circle.
- Select Device > More > Screenshot.
🤔 Protip:
If your buttons are unresponsive due to a system glitch, Dr.Fone - System Repair (iOS) can help fix standard iOS issues without data loss.
