Spotlight Search is the fastest way to find anything on your iPhone, from a buried email to a currency conversion.
How to Access Spotlight
- From Home Screen: Swipe down from the middle of the screen (or tap the “Search” button above the dock on iOS 16+).
- From Lock Screen: Swipe down from the middle of the screen.
What Can You Do with Spotlight?
- Launch Apps: Type the app name and tap to open.
- Calculations: Type “100/5” to see the result instantly.
- Conversions: Type “50 USD to EUR” for live exchange rates.
- Find Settings: Type “Brightness” to jump straight to display settings.
Customizing Search Results
To hide certain apps from search:
- Go to Settings > Siri & Search.
- Scroll down to the specific app.
- Toggle off Show App in Search.
