Google apps, those that come pre-installed on your device can be useful but more often than not, they take up too much space on your device, consume your battery and in effect lower the phone’s performance. Yet, they can only be disabled and not completely removed from the device. If you don’t care much for these Google apps and want to get rid of them, to make room for more useful apps, this article will share with you an easy way to uninstall or remove Google apps from your device.

How to Uninstall Google Apps

Now that your device is rooted, there are very many apps on the Play Store that you can use to remove or uninstall Google Apps. One of them is the NoBloat app which we will use to show you how to remove unwanted Google Apps on your Android device.

But before you begin, it is important to back up your apps just in case you need them later. Go ahead and back up your device, including your Apps and then follow these simple steps to use NoBloat to uninstall Google apps;

Go to the Play Store and search for NoBloat. It is free to install so tap “Install” and wait for the installation to be completed.
When you first open NoBloat after installation, you will be prompted to “Allow Superuser access.”
Tap “Grant to get the app’s main window. Tap on “System Apps” to see a list of all the apps on your device.
Select an app you would like to remove. In the free version, you can only remove one app at a time. From the options presented, choose either “Backup and delete” or “Delete without a Backup.”

Google Apps That Can Be Uninstalled/Removed

BluetoothTestMode.apk: This app is created when you test Bluetooth. It is possible to remove it although we must caution that it may interfere with some Bluetooth terminals that need to test the fidelity of Bluetooth before the transfer of files.

Browser.apk: If you use an installed browser like Firefox or Google Chrome, you can safely uninstall this app. Removing it means you won’t use the stock browser that came pre-installed on your device.

Gmail.apk, GmailProvider.apk: If you don’t use Gmail, you can remove this.

GoogleSearch.apk: You can remove this one if you don’t want the Google Search Widget that can be added to your launcher desktop.
