How to Disable Ad Tracking and Improve Privacy on Samsung Galaxy
Samsung Galaxy phones collect usage data and serve personalized ads by default. Here's how to significantly reduce data tracking and improve your privacy.
Step 1: Reset and Opt Out of Ad ID
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Tap Delete Advertising ID — this prevents Google from tracking you with a persistent ID.
- Or tap Opt Out of Ads Personalization to keep the ID but stop personalization.
Step 2: Disable Samsung Customization Service
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Customization Service.
- Toggle off Customization Service — this stops Samsung from collecting app usage, purchase history, and web browsing data.
Step 3: Disable Samsung Diagnostics
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Send Diagnostic Data.
- Toggle off both Send Diagnostic Data and Improve Samsung Apps Functionality.
Step 4: Review Location Access
Go to Settings → Privacy → Permission Manager → Location and revoke location access from all apps that don't strictly need it.
Step 5: Use a Private Browser
Switch from Samsung Internet (with Bixby tracking) to Firefox Focus or Brave Browser for tracking-free browsing.
