How to Enable Two-Step Verification for Your Samsung Account

Two-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your Samsung account — even if someone steals your password, they can't access your account without your phone or email.

How to Enable Two-Step Verification
  1. Go to account.samsung.com in a browser.
  2. Sign in → go to Security → Two-Step Verification.
  3. Tap Turn On.
  4. Choose your verification method:
    - SMS — code sent to your registered phone number
    - Email — code sent to your email
    - Authenticator app — (most secure) use Google Authenticator or Samsung Pass
Setting Up Authenticator App (Recommended)
  1. Download Google Authenticator or Authy on your phone.
  2. In Samsung account 2FA settings, choose Authenticator App.
  3. Scan the QR code displayed on screen.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code to confirm setup.
  5. Save the backup codes somewhere safe.
2FA Method Comparison
Method Security Level Convenience
SMS code ⚠️ Medium (SIM-swappable) ✅ Easy
Email code ⚠️ Medium ✅ Easy
Authenticator app ✅✅ High ⚠️ Requires app
Why Samsung Account Security Matters

Your Samsung account controls Find My Mobile, Samsung Cloud backups, Samsung Pay access, and Secure Folder. A compromised account exposes all of these.
