How to Use Samsung Private Share to Send Files Securely on Galaxy

Samsung Private Share allows you to send files to others with strict controls — the recipient can't screenshot, forward, or save the file beyond what you allow.

What Makes Private Share Unique
  • Files can be set to expire automatically (1 day to 7 days)
  • Recipients cannot screenshot or record the shared content
  • Files can be revoked remotely even after sending
  • No app required for recipients — they receive a secure link
How to Use Private Share
  1. Open the file, photo, or document you want to share.
  2. Tap Share → scroll down → select Private Share.
  3. Select the recipient from your contacts (they must have a Samsung account).
  4. Set the expiration time (1 day, 2 days, up to 7 days).
  5. Tap Send.
The recipient will:
  • Receive a notification to open the file in Samsung's secure viewer
  • See a "Screenshot blocked" message if they try to capture it
  • Lose access once the expiry time passes
Best Use Cases
  • Sharing sensitive work documents
  • Sending medical records
  • Sharing financial statements
  • Private photos you don't want forwarded
Limitations
  • Both sender and recipient need Samsung accounts
  • Works best with Samsung-to-Samsung sharing
  • No support for large files (over 20MB may be limited depending on Samsung Cloud)
