How to Cast Xiaomi Phone Screen to TV (Wireless Screen Mirror)
Want to watch videos, play games, or show photos from your Xiaomi phone on a TV? Here are all the wireless casting options.
Method 1: Xiaomi Screen Mirror (For Mi TV / Xiaomi TV)
If you have a Xiaomi or Redmi TV:
- On the TV remote, press Screen Mirror (or open the Mi TV settings → Wireless Display)
- On your Xiaomi phone: open Control Center → tap "Screen Mirror" or "Cast"
- Your Mi TV should appear in the device list — tap to connect
- Screen mirroring starts within seconds
Method 2: Google Cast / Chromecast
If your TV has a Chromecast built-in or you have a Chromecast device:
- Open Control Center → tap "Cast" (or Settings → Connection → Screen Cast)
- Select your Chromecast device from the list
- Your screen appears on TV
Or cast directly from apps: YouTube, Netflix, Google Photos all have a Cast icon (📡) within the app.
Method 3: Miracast (For Samsung, LG, Sony Smart TVs)
Most modern smart TVs support Miracast:
- On the TV, enable Screen Mirroring (name varies: SmartShare, AllShare, Screen Cast, Wireless Display)
- On your Xiaomi: Settings → Connection & Sharing → Screen Mirror → tap the TV name
Method 4: HDMI Cable
Use a USB-C to HDMI adapter for a wired connection. This works with any TV/monitor regardless of smart features — and provides the most stable, low-latency connection for gaming.
Troubleshooting
- Device not showing: Ensure both phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Laggy mirroring: Switch to 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, or use HDMI for zero lag
- Black screen during casting: Some DRM-protected content (Netflix, Disney+) blocks screen mirroring — this is a content licensing restriction, not a Xiaomi issue
Casting vs. Mirroring
Screen Mirror duplicates your entire phone screen on the TV. Casting (via YouTube/Netflix) plays media directly on the TV while your phone can do other things — and is better for video quality.
