How to Check Real-Time Battery Usage and Find Battery-Hungry Apps on Xiaomi
Not sure what's draining your Xiaomi battery so fast? HyperOS has built-in tools to show you exactly which apps and services consume the most power.
Method 1: Battery Usage in Settings
- Go to Settings > Battery
- Tap "Battery Usage" or "View Details"
- A list shows all apps sorted by battery consumption since the last full charge
- Tap any app to see exact usage time and percentage
What to look for:
- Apps showing high % with low actual usage time → background drain
- Screen at the top is normal — it's the biggest consumer
- "Android System" or "System" using >10% → possible software issue
Method 2: Battery Status in Notification Bar
Pull down the notification shade — the battery percentage is always visible. Enable "Show battery percentage" via Settings > Battery > Show Battery Percentage if it's not already showing.
Method 3: AccuBattery App (Third-Party)
Download AccuBattery from the Play Store for deeper insights:
- Real-time mA (milliamp) draw per app
- Battery health tracking over time
- Per-session discharge curve
- Screen-on time vs screen-off drain
Interpreting the Data
| Drain Pattern | Likely Cause |
|---|---|
| High drain with screen off | Background app or sync service |
| High drain with screen on | Screen brightness too high, or graphics-intensive app |
| Sudden battery drop | Location app, poorly coded app |
| Even drain throughout day | Normal usage |
Quick Action
Once you identify the culprit, go to Settings > Battery > App Battery Saver and restrict that specific app's background activity.
