How to Connect Xiaomi Phone to a Wireless Speaker via Bluetooth
Connecting a Bluetooth speaker to your Xiaomi phone is straightforward. Here's how to pair, optimize audio quality, and troubleshoot issues.
How to Pair a Bluetooth Speaker
Step 1: Put your Bluetooth speaker into pairing mode (usually hold the Bluetooth button until LED flashes rapidly — check your speaker's manual).
Step 2: On your Xiaomi phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and toggle it ON.
Step 3: Under "Available devices," tap your speaker's name when it appears.
Step 4: If prompted, confirm the pairing code on both devices. Most speakers pair automatically without a PIN.
The speaker is now connected. Audio will route to it automatically.
Quick Pairing via Control Center
Long-press the Bluetooth icon in the Control Center → a device picker appears showing available and previously paired devices → tap your speaker to connect instantly.
Improve Bluetooth Audio Quality
For better sound from your speaker:
Enable HD Audio Codecs (if supported):
Settings → Bluetooth → tap your speaker's ⚙️ icon → "HD audio" or select codec: choose LDAC (highest quality) or aptX HD if your speaker supports it.
Disable Absolute Volume (if volume is too low):
Settings → Additional Settings → Developer Options → disable "Disable Absolute Volume" — this unlocks independent volume control on the phone vs speaker.
Manage Multiple Paired Speakers
HyperOS remembers up to 7 paired Bluetooth devices. The phone auto-connects to the last used device. To connect a different speaker, go to Settings → Bluetooth → tap the preferred speaker.
Disconnect and Forget a Speaker
Settings → Bluetooth → tap ⚙️ next to the speaker → "Disconnect" (temporary) or "Forget" (removes the pairing permanently).
