How to Fix Xiaomi Phone Dropping Wi-Fi or Disconnecting Frequently
Fix xiaomi wifi keeps disconnecting and redmi wifi drops. Solve poco wifi unstable with miui wifi settings and hyperos wifi drop fix.
Frequent Wi-Fi disconnections on Xiaomi phones are usually caused by HyperOS's power-saving settings aggressively cutting Wi-Fi during sleep. Here's the fix.
Fix 1: Keep Wi-Fi On During Sleep
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced Settings (tap the ⋮ menu) → set "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to Always. HyperOS defaults to turning Wi-Fi off to save battery.
Fix 2: Disable WLAN+
WLAN+ automatically switches between Wi-Fi and mobile data based on signal quality. It can cause drops when the router signal is borderline. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and disable WLAN+.
Fix 3: Use Static IP Instead of DHCP
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi → tap your network → Manage Network Settings → Advanced → IP Settings: Static. Assign a fixed IP (e.g., 192.168.1.100) to avoid DHCP lease conflicts.
Fix 4: Change Wi-Fi Band
If your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, try connecting to the other band. 5 GHz offers faster speeds but shorter range; 2.4 GHz is more stable over distance.
Fix 5: Forget and Reconnect
Settings → Wi-Fi → long-press network → Forget → reconnect fresh.
Fix 6: Update Router Firmware
Log into your router's admin panel and check for firmware updates. Some routers have compatibility issues with HyperOS Wi-Fi drivers.
Fix 7: Reset Network Settings
Settings → Additional Settings → Backup & Reset → Reset Network Settings. After this, reconnect to all your Wi-Fi networks.
