How to Set Do Not Disturb (Focus Mode) for Study on Xiaomi Phone

Between notifications, calls, and social media, your Xiaomi phone can be your biggest distraction while studying. Here's how to silence it strategically.


Method 1 – Do Not Disturb (DND)

DND mutes all calls, notifications, and alerts while still letting priority contacts through.

Enable DND instantly:
- Swipe down the notification panel → tap Do Not Disturb.

Configure DND properly:
1. Settings → Sound & vibration → Do Not Disturb.
2. Set Exceptions:
- Allow calls from: Starred contacts / Repeat callers (emergency calls still get through).
- Allow alarms: ✅ (so your study timer still works).
- Allow reminders: ✅ optional.
3. Schedule DND:
- Tap Schedules → Add → set study hours (e.g., Mon–Fri, 6 PM–9 PM).

Method 2 – Focus Mode (Digital Wellbeing)

Focus Mode pauses specific distracting apps rather than silencing everything.

  1. Settings → Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls → Focus mode.
  2. Select apps to pause: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, games, etc.
  3. Tap Turn on now or set a Schedule (e.g., 2 PM–5 PM weekdays).
  4. Paused app icons appear greyed out — tapping them shows a reminder that Focus is active.

You can set a 5-minute break by tapping "Take a break" without fully disabling Focus Mode.


Method 3 – Driving Mode (Aggressive DND)

If you need the strictest silence:
1. Settings → Special features → Driving mode → enable.
2. Auto-replies to incoming messages: "I'm studying, I'll reply later."
3. All notifications silenced except navigation.
