How to Take a Screenshot on Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO (All Methods)

Xiaomi offers more screenshot methods than most Android phones. Here are all six ways, from the fastest to the most accessible.

Method 1 – Power + Volume Down (Universal)

Press Power button + Volume Down button simultaneously and hold for 1 second.
- Works on every Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO model.
- A preview thumbnail appears in the bottom corner — tap it to edit immediately.

Method 2 – Three-Finger Swipe Down (Fastest Gesture)

Swipe down on the screen with three fingers simultaneously.

Enable if not working:
- Settings → Additional Settings → Gestures → Take screenshot → Three-finger swipe → toggle on.

Method 3 – Quick Settings Panel
  1. Swipe down from the top to open the notification panel.
  2. Swipe down again to expand the full Quick Settings tiles.
  3. Tap the Screenshot tile (may need to be added via "Edit" if not visible).

Method 4 – Assistive Ball / Floating Button
  1. Settings → Additional Settings → Assistive Ball → enable.
  2. A floating circle appears on screen.
  3. Tap the ball → tap Screenshot.

Method 5 – Google Assistant Voice Command

Say "Hey Google, take a screenshot" — Google Assistant captures the screen instantly.

Method 6 – Back Tap (HyperOS 2, select models)

On some HyperOS 2 devices:
1. Settings → Additional Settings → Gestures → Back tap.
2. Assign Screenshot to double-tap or triple-tap the back of the phone.

After Taking a Screenshot
  • The thumbnail preview in the bottom corner lets you: Edit, Share, or Delete immediately.
  • Screenshots are saved to Gallery → Albums → Screenshots.
  • On HyperOS, you can also crop directly from the floating preview.

Screenshot Blocked? (Apps that prevent screenshots)

Some apps (banking, streaming services) block screenshots. Workarounds:
- Use ADB shell screencap from a PC (requires Developer Options + USB debugging).
- Some launcher apps provide bypass — but this may violate app terms of service.

Pro Tips
  • After a gesture screenshot, a Scroll button appears — tap it to capture a longer section of the page (scrolling screenshot).
  • Settings → Additional Settings → Gestures → Screenshot button tip — enable to see a visual guide each time.
