How to Record Screen with Internal Audio on Xiaomi HyperOS
HyperOS has a powerful built-in screen recorder that can capture internal audio from games, music, and apps — no third-party app needed.
How to Start a Screen Recording
Method 1 – Control Center:
Open Control Center → tap "Screen Recorder" icon. If not visible, add it (see Article 31 — Customize Control Center).
Method 2 – Quick Ball:
Add Screen Recording to Quick Ball shortcuts.
Method 3 – Volume Up + Power (some models): Check Settings → Additional Settings → Screenshot → Screen Recorder shortcut.
Configure Audio Before Recording
When you tap Screen Recorder, a toolbar appears with audio options:
| Audio Source | Use Case |
|---|---|
| No audio | Silent recording (tutorials, privacy) |
| Internal sound | Record game audio, music, video sound |
| Microphone | Add your voice commentary |
| Internal + Microphone | Record game audio AND your commentary simultaneously |
Select "Internal sound" before tapping the record button.
Recording Settings
Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Screen Recorder to configure:
- Resolution: 720p, 1080p, or 2K (higher = larger file)
- Frame Rate: 30 fps (standard) or 60 fps (smooth motion)
- Bit Rate: Higher = better quality but larger file
- Show touches: Adds visual tap indicators (useful for tutorials)
Stop and Save the Recording
Pull down the notification shade and tap "Stop" in the Screen Recorder notification. The video is saved to Gallery → Screen Recordings as an MP4 file.
Tips for Best Quality
- Use 1080p / 60fps for gaming recordings
- Use 720p / 30fps for tutorials to keep file size manageable
- Close unnecessary apps before recording to prevent frame drops
