How to Use Find My Device (Find My Mobile) to Locate a Lost Xiaomi Phone
Losing a phone is stressful — but Xiaomi phones have two built-in tracking systems that can help you find or protect your device remotely.
Option 1: Xiaomi Find My Device (Mi Find Device)
Before losing your phone — enable it first:
Settings → Mi Account → Find Device → toggle ON. Also enable Location access.
To locate your phone:
- Visit i.mi.com on any browser (or open the "Find Device" app on another Xiaomi phone)
- Sign in with your Mi Account
- Your phone's location appears on a map
- Choose an action: Ring, Lock, or Erase data
Option 2: Google Find My Device
Enable it:
Settings → Google → Find My Device → toggle ON.
To locate:
- Visit android.com/find on any browser
- Sign in with the Google account linked to the phone
- Map shows the phone's last known location
Available Remote Actions
| Action | What It Does | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Ring | Plays loud sound even if on silent | Phone nearby, just misplaced |
| Lock | Locks phone with a temporary PIN | Phone gone but not confirmed stolen |
| Erase | Factory resets the phone remotely | Confirmed stolen, want to protect data |
After Remote Erase
Once erased, Find My Device can no longer track the phone. Only erase as a last resort after all recovery options are exhausted.
