How to Configure iPhone Do Not Disturb?

Do Not Disturb (DND) is now part of iPhone's Focus system. Here's how to set it up:

Method 1: Turn On Do Not Disturb via Control Center (Quickest)
  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center.
  2. Tap Focus, then tap Do Not Disturb.
  3. To set a duration, tap the three-dot icon (…) and choose For 1 Hour, Until This Evening, or Until I Leave.
Method 2: Configure Do Not Disturb in Settings
  1. Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb.
  2. Tap People to allow calls/messages from specific contacts.
  3. Tap Apps to allow alerts from specific apps.
  4. Tap Add Schedule to auto-enable DND at set times or locations.
Allow Calls to Break Through:
  • Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb > People > Calls From → select Allowed People Only or Favorites.
  • Enable Allow Repeated Calls so a second call within 3 minutes rings through.
👍Pros
  • Silences distracting notifications
  • Schedule it for sleep or work hours
  • Allows exceptions for important contacts
👎Cons
  • May miss urgent calls if not configured correctly
  • Alarm apps still require manual setup
  • Scheduled DND must be turned off manually if needed early
🤔 Note:

Ask Siri — say "Turn on Do Not Disturb" or "Turn off Do Not Disturb."
