How to Use Galaxy AI's Generative Edit to Remaster Your Photos

Galaxy AI's Generative Edit brings professional-grade AI photo editing to your Samsung Galaxy — removing objects, repositioning subjects, and reframing entire shots with a few taps.

Requirements
  • Samsung Galaxy S24 series and newer (or Galaxy S23 series after Galaxy AI update)
  • Galaxy AI features enabled (Settings > Advanced features > Galaxy AI)

Available Generative Edit Features
1. Generative Edit (Reframe / Zoom Out)

Expand the canvas of your photo with AI-generated content:

  1. Open a photo in Gallery.
  2. Tap the pencil (Edit) icon.
  3. Tap the Generative Edit option (star/wand icon).
  4. Drag the crop handles outward to expand the canvas.
  5. Tap Generate — Galaxy AI fills in the new areas naturally.
  6. Choose from multiple generated results and save.

Use case: Fix a portrait that cut off the top of the subject's head, or add sky to a landscape.

2. Object Eraser (AI-Powered)

Remove unwanted objects and fill the background seamlessly:

  1. Open photo > Edit > Object Eraser (or Generative Edit).
  2. Draw around the object you want to remove (or tap it — AI detects edges).
  3. Tap Erase or Remove.
  4. Galaxy AI removes the object and intelligently fills in the background.

Use case: Remove a stranger from your travel photo, erase a power line from a landscape.

3. Remaster

Enhance overall photo quality with AI:

  1. Open photo in Gallery.
  2. Tap Edit > Remaster.
  3. The AI sharpens details, reduces noise, and enhances colors.
4. Generative Watermark Removal

For photos with visible watermarks (from other apps):

  • In Generative Edit, draw over the watermark area and use the erase/fill function.
Tips for Best Results
  • Works best on photos with clear backgrounds or distinct objects
