How to Speed Up Your Samsung Galaxy After a One UI Update
It's common for a Samsung Galaxy to feel slower right after a One UI update while it indexes files and optimizes apps. If the slowdown persists beyond 24–48 hours, try these fixes.
Step 1: Wait and Charge Overnight
After the update, the system runs background optimization processes. Leave your phone plugged in and idle for several hours.
Step 2: Restart Your Phone
After the update installs, restart manually via Settings → General Management → Restart.
Step 3: Clear Cached Data
- Go to Settings → Battery and Device Care → Storage → Clean Now
- Alternatively, wipe the cache partition from Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Power at boot).
Step 4: Reduce Visual Effects
- Enable Developer Options (tap Build Number 7 times in About Phone).
- Set Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale all to 0.5x.
Step 5: Check Which Apps Need Updates
Open Play Store → My Apps & Games and update all apps — older app versions can conflict with the new OS.
Step 6: Reset All Settings
Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset All Settings. This keeps your data but resets network, sound, and display settings to default.
Still Slow After All These Steps?
A factory reset is your best option. It eliminates all software residue from the previous OS version.
Dr.Fone Tip: Use Dr.Fone – Phone Backup to back up contacts, messages, photos, and apps before doing a factory reset — then restore everything after.
