How to Use Split Screen and Multi-Window on Samsung Galaxy

Samsung Galaxy's Multi-Window feature lets you run two apps simultaneously on a split screen. Here's how to activate and use it.

Method 1: From Recent Apps
  1. Tap the Recents button (the square icon in the navigation bar).
  2. Tap the app icon at the top of an app card.
  3. Select Open in Split Screen View.
  4. Choose the second app from the Recents list or home screen.
Method 2: From the Edge Panel
  1. Swipe out the Edge Panel from the side of your screen.
  2. Long-press an app and drag it to the top or bottom half of the screen.
Method 3: Keyboard Shortcut (Samsung DeX / physical keyboard)

Press Windows key + Up/Down arrow to snap apps into split view.

Adjusting the Split

Drag the divider bar (the line between the two apps) to resize the panels.

Pop-Up View

Tap an app icon in Recents → select Open in Pop-Up View to make any app float as a resizable window.
