Setting Up Automations

Automations trigger actions automatically based on time, location, or device status:

  2. Add an If condition (e.g., "When I arrive home" via GPS geofencing).
  3. Add a Then action (e.g., "Turn on hallway lights").
  4. Save automation.

  • Turn off all lights when you leave home (geofencing)
  • Lock front door every night at 10 PM
SmartThings on Galaxy Watch

Control all your smart home devices directly from your Galaxy Watch without taking out your phone — tap the SmartThings tile on the watch face.

SmartThings Hub

For Zigbee and Z-Wave devices, a SmartThings Hub ($49.99) is needed as a bridge. Most modern Wi-Fi and Matter devices work without a hub directly through the app.
