How to Set Up a New Samsung Galaxy Phone for the First Time

Step 1: Power On and Select Language
  • Press and hold the side button to power on.
  • Select your language and region/country.
Step 2: Insert SIM or Set Up eSIM
  • Insert your nano-SIM card or tap Add eSIM to configure digital SIM.
  • Follow carrier prompts for eSIM activation if applicable.
Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  • Using Wi-Fi is important for app downloads and initial updates.
Step 4: Sign In or Create a Google Account
  • Sign in with an existing Gmail account or create a new one.

Step 5: Sign In or Create a Samsung Account
  • Required for Samsung-specific features: Galaxy Store, Samsung Cloud, Find My Mobile, Samsung Pay.
  • Create a free account at account.samsung.com if you don't have one.
