How to Fix WhatsApp Crashing When Sending Photos on iOS 27
When WhatsApp closes as you try to send a photo, first update WhatsApp from the App Store, restart the iPhone, and try sending a different small photo. The iOS 27 reference describes the situation, but it does not by itself confirm that iOS is the cause.
Try the low-risk checks first
- Connect to a reliable Wi-Fi or cellular connection, then close and reopen WhatsApp.
- Restart the iPhone and retry with a newly taken photo as well as an older photo.
- Update iOS in Settings > General > Software Update. Apple documents this path for available iPhone updates.
- Check that the iPhone has free storage before downloading updates or retrying media actions.
Before reinstalling WhatsApp
Do not delete the app as an initial response. Reinstalling can affect locally available chat data, so first confirm that the chat history you need is available through a backup or another verified transfer path. If only one conversation triggers the crash, do not assume that the chat or photo is corrupted; test another conversation and contact WhatsApp support with the app version and the exact point where it closes.
If you want a WhatsApp-specific computer backup before reinstalling or resetting, Dr.Fone - WhatsApp Transfer provides a dedicated backup workflow.
