How to Create an Apple ID on iPhone?

If you’re setting up a new iPhone (or you need a separate Apple ID for work or family), you can create an Apple ID directly on the device without a computer.

Method 1: Create Apple ID in Settings (Recommended)
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Sign in to your iPhone (at the top).
  3. Tap Don’t have an Apple ID or forgot it?
  4. Choose Create Apple ID.
  5. Enter your birthday and name, then tap Next.
  6. Choose an email option:
    • Use your current email address (best if you already have one), or
    • Get a free iCloud email address.
  7. Create a strong password and follow the prompts to add a phone number (used for verification and account recovery).
  8. Agree to Apple’s terms, then complete verification (SMS code/email code).
Method 2: Create Apple ID from the App Store
  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Tap the profile icon (top right).
  3. Tap Create New Apple ID and follow the prompts.
Quick checklist (to avoid errors)
  • Use an email address you can access immediately.
  • Don’t reuse an email already tied to another Apple ID.
  • Use a password with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Keep your phone number current for recovery.
Common issues & fixes
  • “This email address is not available”: It’s already registered—use a different email or sign in instead.
  • Verification code not received: Check spam/junk, confirm your phone can receive SMS, or request a new code.
  • Age restrictions: Apple may limit features for child accounts; use Family Sharing for kids.
🤔 Protip:

If your Apple ID setup is blocked because your iPhone is locked or you can’t access essential device settings, a professional iOS utility like Dr.Fone - Screen Unlock (iOS) can help you regain access so you can complete account setup.
