How to Use iPhone Cinematic Mode?
Cinematic mode records video with shallow depth of field and lets you change focus points later. It’s great for storytelling shots, but needs good light.
How to use Cinematic mode
- Open Camera and swipe to Cinematic.
- Tap a subject to set focus; the camera can rack focus automatically when subjects change.
- Record your clip.
- Open Photos > select the Cinematic video > Edit.
- Tap on a subject at a different time to change focus; adjust depth (f-number) if available.
👍Pros
- Cinematic look; editable focus after recording; great for people shots
👎Cons
- Not ideal in low light; edge detection isn’t perfect; larger file sizes
