How to Manage iPhone Trusted Devices for Apple ID?

Trusted devices are Apple devices signed in with your Apple ID that can receive verification codes and approve sign-ins. Regularly removing old or lost devices improves account security.

View trusted devices on iPhone
  1. Go to Settings > tap your name.
  2. Scroll down to see the list of devices signed in with your Apple ID.
  3. Tap a device to view details (model, serial number, etc.).
Remove a trusted device
  1. In the device list, tap the device you no longer use.
  2. Tap Remove from Account (wording may vary).
  3. If the device is still in your possession, also sign out on that device.
When should you remove devices?
  • You sold or gave away the device.
  • A device is lost or stolen.
  • You see an unfamiliar device you don’t recognize.
Extra safety steps
  • Change your Apple ID password after removing an unknown device.
  • Confirm 2FA is enabled and trusted numbers are correct.
