How to Fix Move to iOS Stuck at 99% During WhatsApp Transfer
A Move to iOS transfer that appears stuck at 99% may still be finishing on the iPhone. Do not cancel it just because the Android side is near 100%. Apple tells users to wait until the loading bar on the iPhone finishes, and it does not publish a fixed completion time because transfer duration depends on how much content is moving.
At 99%, wait for the iPhone to finish
- Keep both phones connected to power and close together.
- Leave Move to iOS open on Android and do not use another app or answer a call.
- Watch the loading bar on the iPhone. That is the point Apple uses to determine when you can continue setup.
- If the bar is still advancing, keep waiting rather than restarting a nearly completed transfer.
If 99% turns into a failed transfer
- Restart both phones only after the transfer has clearly failed or stopped without further progress.
- Before retrying, turn off cellular data on Android and disable Android apps or settings that can interfere with Wi-Fi.
- Check that the Android content fits in the available iPhone storage. If only part of the content transferred or the iPhone appears full, erase the incomplete setup and retry with enough space.
- Start again on a new or factory-reset iPhone, choose From Android during setup, and select WhatsApp on the Transfer Data screen.
Finish WhatsApp only after Move to iOS completes
On Android, tap Start when WhatsApp prepares the export, then return to Move to iOS and let the iPhone loading bar finish. After iPhone setup is complete, install the latest WhatsApp from the App Store, sign in with the same phone number, and start the import when prompted. If WhatsApp was already activated on the new iPhone, reset the iPhone before retrying; the old Android history cannot be merged with new chats created on the iPhone.
For a separate computer-based WhatsApp workflow, Dr.Fone - WhatsApp Transfer provides a dedicated WhatsApp transfer workflow.
