How to Fix WhatsApp Transfer Taking Too Long to iPhone 18
A WhatsApp transfer can take a while because Apple says Move to iOS duration depends on the amount of content being moved. A long estimate alone is not proof that the process failed. Keep both phones near each other, plugged into power, and leave the Move to iOS app open on Android until the loading bar on the iPhone finishes.
Reduce preventable interruptions
- Use the same Wi-Fi network or the iPhone hotspot for both devices.
- Turn off Android cellular data and settings that can affect Wi-Fi.
- Do not switch apps or take calls on Android while the transfer runs.
- Confirm that the iPhone has enough free storage for all Android content.
If the progress stops rather than merely moving slowly, restart both devices and retry. Run the transfer during iPhone setup, select WhatsApp on the Transfer Data screen, and wait for Move to iOS to confirm completion before opening WhatsApp on the iPhone.
Use the same phone number throughout. Update WhatsApp on the Android phone before the transfer; after Move to iOS finishes, install the latest WhatsApp version on the iPhone before importing. If the iPhone setup was completed or WhatsApp was already activated, save any iPhone data you need and reset the iPhone before retrying. The official route cannot merge new iPhone chats with the old Android history.
For a separate computer-based WhatsApp workflow, Dr.Fone - WhatsApp Transfer provides a dedicated WhatsApp transfer workflow.
