How to Change Your PIN/Pattern/Password

- Enter your current PIN, pattern, or password to authenticate.
- Select your new lock type:

- Swipe: No security (not recommended) - Follow the prompts to set the new lock method and confirm it.
Lock Screen Types Compared
| Method | Security Level | Convenience |
|---|---|---|
| Swipe | ❌ None | ✅ Instant |
| Pattern | ⚠️ Low-medium | ✅ Fast |
| PIN (4-6 digit) | ✅ Medium | ✅ Fast |
| PIN (8+ digit) | ✅ Strong | ⚠️ Slower |
| Password | ✅✅ Strongest | ⚠️ Slowest |
If You Forgot Your PIN/Password
- Enter the wrong password 5 times.
- Tap Forgot PIN/Password.
- Sign in with your Samsung account or Google account to reset.
If you can't recover via account, a factory reset is required — which erases all data.
Dr.Fone Tip: If you're locked out of your Samsung Galaxy, Dr.Fone – Screen Unlock (Android) can remove the lock screen without a factory reset in many cases.
