How to Fix No Signal or No Service on Samsung Galaxy
Losing cellular signal on your Samsung Galaxy is frustrating. The cause could range from carrier outages to software glitches. Here's how to diagnose and fix it.
Step 1: Check Carrier Network Status
Before troubleshooting your phone, check if there's a carrier outage in your area through your carrier's website or social media.
Step 2: Toggle Airplane Mode
Pull down the quick settings panel → enable Airplane Mode for 15 seconds → disable it. This forces the phone to re-register on the network.
Step 3: Restart the Phone
A fresh boot reconnects all radio services.
Step 4: Reseat the SIM Card
- Power off your Galaxy.
- Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM tray.
- Check for damage or misalignment.
- Reinsert and power on.
Step 5: Check Network Mode Settings
Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Mode and select LTE/5G Auto or LTE preferred to allow the phone to pick the best available signal.
Step 6: Update Carrier Settings
Sometimes carrier settings need updating after SIM or plan changes. Go to Settings → General Management → SIM Manager → Carrier Settings Update.
Step 7: Reset Network Settings
Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
Step 8: Contact Your Carrier
If you recently switched plans, got a new SIM, or changed your account, your carrier may need to provision your SIM again.
Dr.Fone Tip: Use Dr.Fone – System Repair to fix software-related Galaxy no signal issues before contacting your carrier.
