How to Fix Samsung Galaxy Connected to Wi-Fi but No Internet
When your Samsung Galaxy shows a Wi-Fi connection but you can't access the internet, it usually means a DNS issue, incorrect IP settings, or network authentication problem. Here's how to fix it.
Fix 1: Forget and Reconnect
Go to Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi → tap your network → Forget. Reconnect by entering the password again.
Fix 2: Change DNS to Google's Public DNS
- Long-press your connected Wi-Fi network → Manage Network Settings.
- Tap IP Settings → Static.
- Set DNS 1 to 8.8.8.8 and DNS 2 to 8.8.4.4.
- Save and reconnect.
Fix 3: Turn Off VPN
An active VPN can block internet access on some networks. Disable any VPN from Settings → Connections → More Connection Settings → VPN.
Fix 4: Reset Network Settings
Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
Fix 5: Check Router/Modem
The router may have internet issues — not your phone. Test with another device (laptop, another phone) on the same Wi-Fi. If they also have no internet, restart your router.
Fix 6: Check Captive Portal
On hotel or public Wi-Fi networks, you may need to open a browser and accept terms/conditions before internet access is granted. Open any browser and see if a login page appears.
Dr.Fone Tip: If software glitches are causing Galaxy connected to Wi-Fi but no internet, Dr.Fone – System Repair can restore proper network stack functionality.
