How to Free Up Storage Space on Your Samsung Galaxy
Running out of storage on your Samsung Galaxy is a common problem. Here's how to reclaim gigabytes of space quickly and keep your Samsung phone running smoothly.
Step 1: Use Device Care
Go to Settings → Battery and Device Care → Storage → Clean Now. This removes temporary files and redundant data automatically.
Step 2: Delete Duplicate and Unused Photos
Open Gallery → ☰ Menu → Suggestions → Large Files or Duplicates to find and delete space-hogging media.
Step 3: Offload Photos to Google Photos or Samsung Cloud
Enable Google Photos backup (or Samsung Cloud), then delete local originals — photos remain accessible in the cloud.
Step 4: Clear App Caches
Go to Settings → Battery and Device Care → Storage → Apps — tap any large app and clear its cache.
Step 5: Uninstall Unused Apps
Go to Settings → Apps, sort by Size (tap the Sort icon), and uninstall the largest apps you no longer use.
Step 6: Move Media to SD Card (If Available)
If your Galaxy has a microSD slot, move photos, videos, and downloads to the SD card via My Files → Internal Storage → select files → Move → SD Card.
Step 7: Clear Downloads Folder
Open My Files → Downloads and delete everything you no longer need.
