How to Move Apps and Photos to SD Card on Samsung Galaxy

If your Samsung Galaxy has a microSD card and you're running low on internal storage, you can move apps and media files to the SD card.

Move Photos and Videos to SD Card

1. Open the Camera app → Settings (gear icon).
2. Tap Storage Location → SD Card.
3. Future photos and videos will save directly to the SD card.

To move existing photos:

1. Open Gallery → ☰ → Select items.
2. Tap More → Move to SD Card.

Move Apps to SD Card

1. Go to Settings → Apps.
2. Select an app.
3. Tap Storage → Change (if available).
4. Select SD Card.

⚠️ Note: Not all apps support being moved to SD card. Samsung system apps and apps that need real-time access (like a launcher) cannot be moved.

Move Files with My Files

1. Open My Files → Internal Storage.
2. Navigate to folders (Downloads, Documents, etc.).
3. Long-press files/folders → tap Move.
4. Choose SD Card as destination.

Important Cautions

• Don't remove the SD card while apps stored on it are running — this causes crashes.
• Slower SD cards will make apps launch slower — use Class 10 or A2 cards.
• Formatting the SD card will erase all data on it.
