How to Use Live Translate for Real-Time Call Translation on Samsung Galaxy
Samsung Galaxy's Live Translate (part of Galaxy AI) enables real-time two-way translation during phone calls — you hear the translation through your speaker and the other person gets a translated voice reply.
How to Enable Live Translate
- During an active phone call, tap the Live Translate button in the call interface (it looks like a speech bubble with arrows).
- The first time, you'll be prompted to select languages.
- Choose your language and the caller's language.
- Tap Start Translating.
How It Works
- Your voice is translated to the other person's language in near real time.
- Their voice is translated to your language for you to hear.
- A text transcript is also displayed on screen.
Requirements
- Samsung Galaxy S24, S25, or Z Fold/Flip 6 and later
- One UI 6.1 or later
- Internet connection (uses cloud translation for most languages)
- Available in 20+ languages (Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc.)
Privacy Note
Samsung processes the voice through its AI servers. Live Translate discloses the translation feature to the other caller with an audio announcement before it starts.
When Live Translate Is Useful
- Business calls with international partners
- Travel assistance in foreign countries
- Customer service calls in another language
Disable for a Specific Call
Tap the Live Translate icon again to turn it off at any time during the call.
