How to Set Up Secure Folder
- Go to Settings → Security and Privacy → Secure Folder.
- Sign in with your Samsung account.
- Choose a lock method (PIN, password, fingerprint, or face).
- Secure Folder appears as an app on your home screen.
What You Can Put in Secure Folder
- Clone copies of apps (e.g., a second Instagram or banking app)
- Private photos and videos (not visible in main Gallery)
- Documents and notes
- Contacts (invisible to main phone book)
How to Add Apps to Secure Folder
- Open Secure Folder.
- Tap Add Apps (+).
- Choose from installed apps or download from a separate Galaxy Store within Secure Folder.
How to Move Photos/Files into Secure Folder
- In Gallery, long-press a photo.
- Tap More → Move to Secure Folder.
Hide Secure Folder from Home Screen
Go to Secure Folder settings → Hide Secure Folder — it disappears from view and can only be accessed via Settings.
Security Level
Secure Folder is powered by Samsung Knox and encrypted at the hardware level. Even factory resetting the phone doesn't affect Secure Folder contents (until you also reset Knox).
