How to Use Handoff Between iPhone and Mac?
Handoff lets you start a task on iPhone and continue it on your Mac (and vice versa), like browsing in Safari or writing a note. It’s part of Apple’s Continuity features.
Requirements
- Same Apple ID signed in to iPhone and Mac.
- Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi enabled on both devices.
- Devices near each other.
Enable Handoff
On iPhone
- Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity (or Handoff depending on iOS).
- Turn on Handoff.
On Mac
- Go to System Settings (or System Preferences).
- Open General > AirDrop & Handoff.
- Enable Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.
How to use it
- When you’re using a supported app on iPhone, look for the app icon on your Mac’s Dock (often on the left) and click it to continue.
- From Mac to iPhone, the Handoff option appears on iPhone’s app switcher or Lock Screen suggestions (varies by iOS).
