What Emergency Bypass Does
Emergency Bypass lets calls or messages from a specific contact ring even when Silent Mode or Focus/Do Not Disturb is enabled.
Enable Emergency Bypass for Calls
- Open the Contacts app (or Phone > Contacts).
- Select the contact > Edit.
- Tap Ringtone.
- Toggle Emergency Bypass On > Done.
Enable Emergency Bypass for Messages
- In the same contact, tap Text Tone.
- Toggle Emergency Bypass On > Done.
👍Pros
- Critical contacts can reach you anytime
👎Cons
- Reduces quiet time—use it for a small set of truly urgent contacts
