How to Change Language and Region Settings on Xiaomi HyperOS Without Losing Data

Changing your language or region on Xiaomi HyperOS is safe, reversible, and does not delete any of your data. It can also unlock regional features such as new wallpapers, local payment methods, or regional app stores.

How to Change Display Language

1. Go to Settings → Additional settings → Language & input.
2. Tap Language → Add a language.
3. Search for and select your desired language.
4. Drag it to the top of the list to set it as primary.
5. Tap Apply — your phone restarts and displays in the new language.

Tip: HyperOS supports multiple languages simultaneously. Apps will use your primary language, but you can add secondary languages for keyboard input.

How to Change Region

1. Go to Settings → Additional settings → Region.
2. Select your new region from the list.
3. Tap Apply — no reboot required.

Important: Changing region affects: date format, currency display in apps, some regional content/services, and which Mi Pay region is active.

Adding RTL Language Support (Arabic, Hebrew)

HyperOS natively supports Right-to-Left (RTL) display:
1. Add Arabic or Hebrew as the primary language.
2. The entire HyperOS UI switches to RTL layout automatically.
3. Settings menus, app drawers, and status bar all flip to RTL.

Keyboard Language Setup

After changing UI language, add keyboard input:
1. Go to Settings → Additional settings → Language & input → Manage keyboards.
2. Toggle on keyboards for your desired input language.
3. Switch keyboards with the globe icon on the keyboard toolbar.

Reverting to Original Language

Simply follow the same steps and drag your original language back to the top of the list. All settings revert instantly with no data loss.
