How to Connect Hearing Aids to Xiaomi Phone via Bluetooth

Modern Bluetooth hearing aids can pair with Android phones including Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO — for direct call audio, media streaming, and assistive features.

Hearing Aid Bluetooth Standards
Standard Compatibility with Xiaomi
ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) ✅ Android 10+ — supported on all modern Xiaomi phones
Classic Bluetooth (A2DP) ✅ Works like any Bluetooth headset
MFi (Made for iPhone) ❌ iPhone only — will NOT work with Xiaomi
LE Audio (Bluetooth 5.3+) ✅ Xiaomi 15 series and newer flagships
Step 1 – Enable Pairing Mode on Hearing Aid

Each brand's process varies — common methods:
- Phonak / ReSound / Oticon: Open and close battery door, or hold program button 3 seconds.
- Starkey / Widex: Hold pairing button until LED flashes.
- Refer to your hearing aid's manual for exact steps.

Step 2 – Pair with Xiaomi Phone
  1. Settings → Bluetooth → toggle On → Scan for devices.
  2. Your hearing aid appears in the list (usually listed by brand/model).
  3. Tap to pair → accept pairing prompt.
  4. Both aids (left + right) may need pairing separately.
Step 3 – Configure in Accessibility Settings
  1. Settings → Accessibility → Hearing → Hearing aids.
  2. Paired hearing aids appear here for audio routing control.
  3. Enable Hearing aid compatibility mode if available — reduces interference.
Audio Volume Balance

For users with asymmetric hearing:
1. Settings → Accessibility → Hearing → Audio balance.
2. Slide the balance left or right to compensate for stronger/weaker ear.

Call Audio via Hearing Aids

Once paired:
- Incoming calls route to hearing aids automatically.
- To toggle: during a call, tap Audio output icon → select hearing aids.

🤔Protip:

  • Enable Bluetooth auto-reconnect: once paired, hearing aids reconnect automatically when phone Bluetooth is on.
  • If audio cuts out during calls: enable Disable Bluetooth A2DP hardware offload in Developer Options (for ASHA devices).
  • Keep hearing aids and phone within 1–3 meters for stable ASHA streaming.
