How to Fix Xiaomi Under-Display Fingerprint Not Working with Screen Protector
Under-display fingerprint sensors (UDF) on Xiaomi phones use optical sensing — a thin or incompatible screen protector can block the light and cause recognition failures.
Why It Happens
Optical UDF sensors work by shining light through the display to image your fingerprint. Screen protectors that are:
- Too thick (>0.33 mm)
- Not optically clear in the UDF zone
- Matte/anti-glare finish

Step 1 – Use a UDF-Compatible Screen Protector
Look for protectors labelled:
- "Under-display fingerprint compatible"
- "UDF-friendly"
