How to Record Slow-Motion Video (960fps) on Xiaomi Phone

Xiaomi's camera app supports super slow-motion recording up to 960fps on most models, and up to an astonishing 7680fps on select flagships like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and 15 Ultra. Here is how to use it properly.

Supported Frame Rates by Model
Frame RateResolutionModels
240fps1080pMost Xiaomi phones
480fps720pXiaomi 12 series and above
960fps720pXiaomi 13 / 14 / 15 series
7680fpsVery short burstXiaomi 14 Ultra, 15 Ultra
How to Enable Slow Motion

1. Open the Camera app.
2. Swipe to More modes (or tap the grid icon).
3. Select Slow motion.
4. At the top of the screen, choose your frame rate: 240 / 480 / 960fps.
5. Tap the red record button to start.

Important: 960fps and 7680fps only capture a very short burst (less than 1 second). The camera records normal speed, then slows the burst moment automatically.
Shooting Tips for the Best Results

Lighting is everything
- 960fps requires enormous light. Shoot in bright daylight or strong artificial light — indoor lighting is usually insufficient for 960fps.
- Outdoors in direct sun gives the best results.

Trigger the slow-motion moment
- Tap the lightning bolt icon to enable auto-capture mode: the camera detects fast movement and triggers the slow-motion burst automatically.
- Or tap the shutter button right as the action happens (needs practice).

How to Edit Slow Motion After Recording

1. Open the clip in Gallery.
2. Tap Edit → Slow motion.
3. Drag the yellow markers to choose which section plays in slow motion.
4. Save — the exported video shows normal speed outside the markers, slow motion inside.

Sharing Tip

WhatsApp and Instagram compress video and may ruin the effect. Share via Google Photos link or export at original quality to preserve the frame rate.

Pro Tip

For 7680fps on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the burst is extremely short (~0.03 seconds). Practice the timing by watching the live viewfinder, then tap at the exact peak of the action. Multiple attempts are normal — even professional videographers retry this shot 10+ times.
