How to Send Files from Xiaomi Phone to Mac or Windows PC Using Quick Share

Sending files from your Xiaomi phone to your computer used to require a USB cable. Now, HyperOS makes wireless transfer dead-simple using Quick Share (powered by Google's Nearby Share) and HyperConnect.

Method 1: Quick Share (Nearby Share) to Windows PC

Requirements: Windows 10/11 PC, ""Nearby Share for Windows"" app installed.

Setup

1. Download ""Nearby Share for Windows"" from android.com/better-together/nearby-share-app.
2. Install and open the app — sign in with the same Google account as your Xiaomi phone.
3. Set your PC's visibility to ""Everyone"" or ""Contacts"".

Transfer Files

1. On your Xiaomi phone, select files in Gallery or Files.
2. Tap Share → Quick Share (Nearby Share).
3. Your PC's name appears — tap it.
4. On the PC, click Accept.
5. Files arrive in your PC's Downloads/Nearby Share folder.

Method 2: HyperConnect to PC (Xiaomi-to-Xiaomi Transfer)

If both devices are Xiaomi:
1. Install HyperConnect on your Windows PC.
2. Sign in with the same Mi Account as your phone.
3. On your phone, swipe down → open HyperConnect control.
4. Tap PC Transfer → select files → they appear on your PC instantly.

Method 3: Quick Share to Mac

Mac doesn't have native Quick Share support. Use these alternatives:

Xiaomi Interconnectivity App (for iPhone/Mac users):
1. Install Xiaomi Interconnectivity on your iPhone (connects Mac via iPhone).
2. Alternatively, use AirDroid Web at web.airdroid.com to receive files wirelessly.

Simple web-based alternative:
1. Install LocalSend (free, open-source) on both your Xiaomi phone and Mac.
2. Connect to the same Wi-Fi.
3. Open LocalSend on both — select files and send instantly.

Speed Comparison

Tip: For large video files (1GB+), USB cable is still fastest. For photos and documents up to 500MB, Quick Share is the most convenient.
