How to Set Up Xiaomi Phone for Color Blind Users with Display Correction

Approximately 8% of men and 0.5% of women have some form of colour vision deficiency. Xiaomi HyperOS includes dedicated colour correction modes that remap screen colours to be distinguishable for different types of colour blindness.

How to Enable Colour Correction on Xiaomi

1. Go to Settings → Accessibility.
2. Tap Visual → Colour correction (or ""Colour blind mode"" on some versions).
3. Toggle Use colour correction on.
4. Select your colour vision type from the list:
- Deuteranomaly
- Protanomaly
- Tritanomaly
5. The display immediately applies the correction filter.

Adjusting the Correction Intensity

HyperOS allows adjustment of correction strength:
- Drag the Intensity slider to set how strongly the correction is applied.
- Start at 50% and increase if colours are still difficult to distinguish.
- Some users find 70–80% most comfortable for daily use.

Additional Accessibility Display Settings
Grayscale Mode

For users with complete colour vision deficiency:
1. Settings → Accessibility → Colour correction → Greyscale.
2. Or enable via Developer Options → Simulate colour space → Monochromacy.

High Contrast Mode

Increases contrast between text and backgrounds:
1. Settings → Accessibility → Display → High contrast text.

Colour Inversion

Inverts all screen colours — useful for certain visual impairments:
1. Settings → Accessibility → Display → Colour inversion.

Shortcut for Quick Toggle

Set up a shortcut to quickly toggle colour correction:
1. Go to Settings → Accessibility → Accessibility shortcut.
2. Select Colour correction.
3. Triple-press the Volume Down button to toggle it on/off quickly.
