How to Transfer WhatsApp Chat History from Old Phone to New Xiaomi
WhatsApp chat history doesn't transfer automatically — you need to back up first. Here's the complete process.
Method 1 – Google Drive Backup (Recommended)
On your OLD phone — create backup:
1. WhatsApp → Settings → Chats → Chat backup.
2. Tap Back up to Google Drive → select your Google account.
3. Set backup frequency to Daily (for ongoing protection).
4. Tap Back up now → wait for completion (can take minutes for large histories).
5. Confirm backup shows a recent timestamp.
On your NEW Xiaomi phone — restore:
