How to Use Xiaomi Phone as a Webcam for PC Without Extra Apps

Your Xiaomi phone has a far better camera than most built-in laptop webcams. With HyperConnect, you can use it as a wireless HD webcam for Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or OBS — without installing any extra apps.

Requirements
  • Xiaomi phone running HyperOS 2.0+
  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC
  • Both devices on the same Wi-Fi network
  • HyperConnect (Xiaomi PC Connect) app installed on PC (free from mi.com)
Step-by-Step Setup
On Your PC

1. Download and install HyperConnect from https://www.mi.com/global/product/pc-hyperconnect.
2. Open HyperConnect and sign in with your Mi Account.
3. Allow the app through Windows Firewall if prompted.

On Your Phone

1. Go to Settings → HyperConnect (or search ""PC Connect"").
2. Tap Connect to PC and allow your PC to pair.
3. Once connected, tap Phone Camera → Use as PC Camera.

On Video Call Apps

1. Open Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet.
2. In video settings, select ""Xiaomi Camera"" or ""HyperConnect Camera"" as the camera device.
3. Your Xiaomi's rear or front camera feed now appears on PC.

Choosing the Right Camera
  • Front camera: Best for video calls (faces the user naturally)
  • Rear ultrawide: Best for desk/document capture or wide-room shots
  • Rear main (50MP+): Best for streaming or recording product demos
Pro Tips
  • Use a phone stand or tripod for stable framing
  • Enable Portrait mode within HyperConnect for automatic background blur
  • For OBS streaming, add HyperConnect Camera as a ""Video Capture Device"" source
  • The connection is Wi-Fi based — stay within 10 metres of your router for best quality

This makes a significant quality upgrade for remote workers and streamers using budget laptop cameras.
