How to Speed Up MIUI / HyperOS Animation and UI Responsiveness
Learn to speed up miui animations and hyperos animation scale. Use xiaomi developer options animation for faster ui poco redmi and miui transition speed.
Even a mid-range Xiaomi phone can feel premium with one simple tweak: reducing animation speeds in Developer Options. This does not change any features — it just removes the slow visual transitions.
Step 1: Enable Developer Options
- Go to Settings > About Phone
- Find "MIUI Version" (or "HyperOS Version")
- Tap it 7 times rapidly
- Enter your PIN if prompted — Developer Options is now enabled
Step 2: Adjust Animation Scales
Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options. Scroll down to the Drawing section and find these three settings:
| Setting | Default | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Window animation scale | 1x | 0.5x |
| Transition animation scale | 1x | 0.5x |
| Animator duration scale | 1x | 0.5x |
Set all three to 0.5x for a noticeably snappier UI. You can also set them to Off for instant transitions (some users find this too abrupt).
Step 3: Enable "Force GPU Rendering" (Optional)
In the same Developer Options menu, enable Force GPU rendering. This offloads UI rendering to the GPU, which can smooth out scrolling on older Xiaomi devices.
Result
After applying these changes, app switching, home screen scrolling, and notification shade pulls will all feel significantly faster — no hardware upgrade required.
Pro Tip: These settings are safe to change and can be reverted at any time by setting the scales back to 1x.
