How to Use Wireless Charging on Samsung Galaxy (Qi & Qi2 Guide)
Samsung Galaxy S-series and most flagship models support wireless charging. Here's everything you need to know to use it properly.
What Wireless Charging Speed Does Your Galaxy Support?
| Galaxy Model | Wireless Charging Speed |
|---|---|
| Galaxy S25, S25+ | 15W |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | 15W |
| Galaxy Z Fold 7 | 15W |
| Galaxy Z Flip 7 | 15W |
| Galaxy A55 | 15W |
How to Start Wireless Charging
- Place your wireless charger on a flat surface and plug it in.
- Place your Galaxy face-up on the center of the charger pad.
- The charging indicator in the status bar will appear within a few seconds.
Tips for Best Wireless Charging
- Remove thick cases — they block the magnetic field. Cases over 3mm thick will reduce or block charging.
- Align the center of your phone to the center of the pad.
- Use a Samsung-certified wireless charger for guaranteed compatibility.
- Metal cases, PopSockets, or card holders between phone and pad will block charging.
Qi vs Qi2
- Qi: Standard — works with any Qi pad
- Qi2: Updated standard with magnetic alignment — faster and more efficient. Galaxy S25 supports Qi2.
Slow Wireless Charging?
Wireless charging is inherently slower than wired. For fast wireless (15W), you need a compatible 15W wireless pad (Samsung brand recommended) AND a USB-C power adapter of at least 25W plugged into the pad.
