How to Restore Samsung Galaxy from Samsung Cloud Backup [2026]

If you've backed up your Samsung Galaxy to Samsung Cloud, restoring that data is straightforward. Here's how to do it.

Method 1: During Initial Setup (New Phone or After Reset)
  1. Power on the phone and go through the setup wizard.
  2. When prompted, tap Restore from Samsung Cloud.
  3. Sign in to your Samsung account.
  4. Select the backup date to restore from.
  5. Choose which data to restore (contacts, settings, messages, etc.).
  6. Tap Restore — the process takes 5–30 minutes depending on backup size.
Method 2: Restore on an Active Phone
  1. Go to Settings → Accounts and Backup → Restore Data.
  2. Sign in to your Samsung account.
  3. Select your device and the backup to restore from.
  4. Choose data categories.
  5. Tap Restore.
